IXON Pitched Before Investors on Techstars' Demo Day

Our founder and CEO Felix Cheung gave a 5-minute pitch presentation before an audience of 300 investors at Techstars Farm to Fork Accelerator Demo Day on Thursday 3rd December. The culminating event showcased IXON's growth and work after 5-month of interactions with lead mentors from top companies including Cargill, Ecolab, Grow North and Memphis Meats.

In his speech, Cheung explained that food wastage is the number one reason for food insecurity and malnutrition around the world. Every year, only a portion of the food we produce are eaten. Approximately 25% of the meat and 40% of the fish are thrown away because of food spoilage, overbuying, or expiration dates.

“That’s 100 million tonnes of food, worth 300 billion US dollars, that could have been used to feed 2.3 billion people,” says Cheung. “Our technology helps extend the shelf life of meat, eggs, fish, and seafood from days to years.”
