IXON Showcases ASAP Technology in Paris
IXON participated in a series of high-profile events in Paris last week as part of the prestigious Sunbolah accelerator program, sponsored by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy, Water and Agriculture (MEWA).
The company, selected as one of four international participants in the 16-week accelerator program, demonstrated its innovative advanced sous-vide aseptic packaging (ASAP) technology at SIAL Paris, one of the world's largest food innovation exhibitions, on October 21-22. IXON's booth featured their latest ambient products, including premium Wagyu beef, pork chop, poached salmon, stewed ox tail, pork dumplings, and Hawaiian pizza — all shelf-stable at room temperature through their preservation technology.
On October 23, IXON visited Station F, the world's largest startup campus, in the morning, followed by an evening meeting with senior MEWA officials, including Vice Minister Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al Mushaiti and Deputy Minister for Research and Innovation Dr. Abdulaziz bin Malek Al Malek, at the elegant Kwerk Haussmann.
During the visit to AgroParisTech on Thursday, Deputy Minister Dr. Al Malek announced several initiatives to facilitate IXON's entry into the Saudi market. These include government funding for office establishment in Saudi Arabia, investment attraction support, and a regulatory sandbox program designed to fast-track the commercialization of disruptive agrifood technologies.
The tour of French innovation institutions concluded with visits to two leading facilities: the advanced biotechnology hub Genopole Biocluster and BioLabs Hôtel-Dieu, a flexible coworking space combining wet lab facilities and offices to support growing startups.
The Sunbolah accelerator program, which has already facilitated SAR 17 million in investment rounds and created 130 new jobs, represents a significant initiative by the Saudi government to foster innovation in the food sector. The program includes six Saudi startups alongside international companies from the United States, Italy, France, and Hong Kong, combining local entrepreneurship with global expertise.
