[Testimonial 01] Korean pork wrapped in lettuce (Dwaejeegogi Ssam)

Over the past weeks, we sent our ASAP products to our friends and associates around the world for them to feel, cook and taste. Today, we have received our very first message from Soo Jung Hyun, our associate from Seoul, South Korea. This is what she has to say after tasting our pork chops:

Dear IXON,

Firstly, thank you so much for creating this solution. It gives me such hope for a sustainable AND delicious future.

Impression: There's an artisan's care and confidence throughout the product. It's in the packaging, the way the meat looks, feels and cooks, the way it tastes and smells.

Packaging: A simple stylish cardboard box opened up to show a plastic pouch. It was squeaky clean. It was transparent so showed the lightly coloured pork chop bathed in olive oil. The ingredients listed were olive oil, pork and salt and it looked that way too. Two notches on the pouch indicated how to open. It was easy to open with my fingers and the pork chop and oil glided into a bowl.

Cooking: I took a deep breath of the pork chop and oil. To my surprise I smelled only olive oil and a hint of pork. I fried the pork chop in oil with a pinch of salt. It sizzled appetisingly and seared to a delicious golden brown. Since the pork comes cooked, I didn't have to worry whether it was safely cooked through. After searing, I sliced it.

Eating: My mum and I ate the pork chop in a simple korean ssam. This means meat wrapped in lettuce or perilla leaf with a dab of sauce. The meat is the star so it has to be delicious. And it was. Juicy, tender, flavourful. We ate the whole thing and wished we had more. 

Conclusion: The meal left us with that wonderful sense of wellness you feel after eating a meal made of honest ingredients. And it felt even better knowing the pork was part of a sustainable solution. Thank you tremendously for creating something that both tastes good and does good.

包裝:紙盒簡約時尚,容易打開,裡面放了一個塑料袋,太乾淨了,它是透明的。淺色的橄欖油隱約顯示出豬排,就如列出的成分所示,只有橄欖油、豬肉和鹽,看起來也是如此。袋子上的兩個缺口指示如何打開,用手指輕鬆一撕,豬排和油滑入了碗中。

烹飪:我深深地聞了一下豬排和油,令我驚訝的是,我聞到橄欖油香和一點新鮮豬肉的味道。我用少許鹽在油中炸豬排,它開胃地嘶嘶作響,並烤成美味的金棕色。由於豬肉是煮熟的,所以我不必擔心它是否被安全煮熟。燒焦後,我切成薄片。

味道:我和我媽媽用簡單的韓式方法吃豬排,將肉包裹在生菜或紫蘇葉中並蘸少許醬汁。肉是主角,所以它必須好吃。嗯,對了,多汁、細嫩、美味。我們把整個東西都吃完了,還嫌有點不夠。

結論:這頓飯給我們留下了美好的回憶,就像吃完了一份用心製作的飯後那種美妙的健康感。當知道豬肉是可持續解決方案的一部分,我感覺就更好了。
